The Lifestyle Remedy is a private sector health service provider and is bound by the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the 13 Australian Privacy Principles (APPs), regardless of annual turnover. This policy explains how we collect, use, store and protect your personal and health information.

1. Who we are

The Lifestyle Remedy is operated by Brenna Keogh as a sole trader based in Cairns, Queensland, Australia. We provide holistic postpartum health coaching and support services online.

2. What information we collect

We collect the following types of personal and health information:

  • Identity information — full legal name, preferred name, date of birth
  • Contact information — email address, mobile number, state and territory
  • Emergency contact details
  • Health information — medical history, mental health history, medications, supplements, allergies and pre-exercise screening responses
  • Lifestyle information — sleep, nutrition, movement habits and stress levels
  • Life context information — household composition, support networks and work situation
  • Coaching information — personal goals, session notes and weekly check-in data
  • Payment records — processed via Stripe (we do not store card details)
  • Session recordings — where consent has been provided in your service agreement

3. How we collect your information

We collect personal and health information directly from you through:

  • Online forms — pre-screening, service agreement, intake form and weekly check-in
  • Direct communication via email, Microsoft Teams and WhatsApp
  • Session recordings where consent has been provided

4. Why we collect your information

We collect your information to:

  • Provide health coaching and postpartum support services
  • Develop and deliver personalised care plans
  • Assess your suitability for our programs and services
  • Monitor your progress and outcomes
  • Communicate with you about your health and coaching journey
  • Comply with our legal and professional obligations
  • Refer you to appropriate healthcare providers when required

5. How we store and protect your information

Your information is stored as follows:

  • Form data — stored securely within JotForm’s encrypted platform
  • Session notes and client files — stored in Microsoft OneDrive with restricted access
  • Email communications — stored in Gmail with two-factor authentication enabled
  • Payment records — processed and stored by Stripe in accordance with PCI DSS standards
  • Session recordings — stored in Microsoft OneDrive and deleted after 12 months unless otherwise agreed

We take reasonable steps to protect your information from misuse, interference, loss, unauthorised access, modification and disclosure.

6. Disclosure of your information

We will not share your personal or health information with any third party without your written consent, except where:

  • Required by law or court order
  • There is a serious and imminent risk to your safety or the safety of others
  • Disclosure is necessary to prevent or lessen a serious threat to life, health or safety
  • We use third party service providers (JotForm, Stripe, MailerLite, Microsoft) — these providers are bound by their own privacy obligations and do not use your information for any other purpose

7. Your rights

Under the Australian Privacy Principles, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate, incomplete or outdated information
  • Make a complaint about how we have handled your information
  • Request that we not use your information for direct marketing purposes

8. Data retention

We retain client records for a minimum of 7 years after the conclusion of services in accordance with health record retention obligations. After this period records are securely destroyed. Session recordings are retained for 12 months then securely deleted.

9. Privacy complaints

If you have a concern about how we have handled your personal information, please contact us in writing at [email protected]. We will acknowledge your complaint within 5 business days and provide a response within 30 days.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you may lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.

10. Changes to this policy

This policy is reviewed annually. Any updates will be published on this page with a revised date. Continued use of our services after any update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
